About Juanpedro David & Francisco Salazar
Juanpedro David and Francisco are filmmakers who divide their time between New York where they grew up and Colombia. They are interested in stories about cultural identity and the LGBT experience within the Latine community.
Their latest film “Colibri” (2024) had its world premiere at the Festival de Cine en la Montanas in Colombia and has been screened at multiple film festivals including the Houston Latino Film Festival and Bogota Film Festival. The film won Best International Film at the Long Island Film Expo, Best Colombian Film at the Bogota Film Festival, and Best Narrative Film at the Melbourne Lift-Off Film Festival. For the film, They produced the Music Video for the film’s original song.
Their first feature "Nowhere" (2020) went to over 20 Film Festivals including Outfest Fusion and Cinequest and was nominated for two Colombian Academy Awards. It also won Best First Film, Best in Show, and Best Feature at several festivals including the Chesapeake Film Festival, OMovies, Roving Eye Film Festival, and Woods Hole Film Festival. The film was acquired by TLA Releasing in the U.S. and U.K. and Optimale in France. In 2019 they were selected for the first annual Latinx List from The Black List. They were also members of FilmShop.

In addition to their film work, they have collaborated with BMW, Fordham University, Dallas Opera, Jeffrey Parker Interiors, OperaRox Productions, the New York Opera Fest, Lenny's Studio, and Quiñones Healthcare.

Juanpedro David holds an M.S. from Fordham University while Francisco holds an M.S. from the New School.
